The full fleet of more than 1000 sailors came out to play on the second day of the Princess Sofia Regatta in Palma and a handful of New Zealand boats emerged in the top 10 after another punishing day of strong winds and cold temperatures.

This week's Princess Sofia Regatta in Palma represents the start of the new Olympic cycle but instead of warming into their work most sailors were left frigid after racing in freezing temperatures and strong winds overnight (NZ time).

A handful of top regattas have been held in recent times, including the RS Feva and Moth national championships and Auckland Laser championships.
