Campaign update: Andy Maloney on bronze in Medemblik

The 2013 Delta Lloyd Regatta (EUROSAF Event 2) has just finished here in Medemblik, Holland. We had very cold, wet, and predominantly windy conditions over the five days of racing. Most days were somewhere between 6-10 degrees, with rain on and off. It was hard to keep the feeling in your fingers!

The NZL Sailing Team is back on the podium collecting three medals today in Medemblik, the Netherlands at 2013 Delta Lloyd Regatta. It is gold for Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie, silver for Paul Snow-Hansen and Daniel Willcox and bronze for Andy Maloney at round two of the inaugural EUROSAF Champions Sailing Cup Series.

Nacra 17 NZ Class Association launched

A new Class Association has been formed in New Zealand to support the Olympic multihull catamaran – the Nacra 17. The Nacra 17 multihull yacht has been introduced to the Olympic Games as a mixed gender (one female and one male crew) event and will be contested for the first time in Rio 2016.

The NZL Sailing Team are back in the hunt for medals with three crews lying top two across three classes as 2013 Delta Lloyd Regatta, on in the Netherlands right now, heads into the business end with just two days to go. Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie are ten points clear in the Women’s 470, Andy Maloney has climbed to 2nd in the Laser event and Men’s 470 pair Paul Snow-Hansen and Daniel Willcox has also improved to 2nd place after some excellent races today.
