The Jubilee Sailing Trust’s 55m tall ship Lord Nelson, which was purpose-built to be sailed by physically disabled and able-bodied people, is sailing around the world. This is the first time that an accessible tall ship has undertaken such a journey.

A stunning opening day of racing at the 2013 470 European Championships in Formia, Italy with blue sky, sparkling sea and a perfect breeze across the race course. Racing got underway in a stable breeze of 15 knots, building to around 18 knots.

Women’s MR Worlds: Kiwi crews finish 7th and 8th

Spain’s Tamara Echegoyen has been crowned ISAF Women’s Match Racing World Champion but Camilla Ulrikkeholm of Denmark gave her a hard time in the final. The two kiwi crews competing, helmed by Susannah Pyatt and Claudia Pierce, finished in 7th and 8th respectively.

Fiji Race: Squealer dismasted + Wild Card finishes

Squealer became the third boat to be forced to retire from the Auckland to Musket Cove Ocean race when it lost its rig at 1756hrs yesterday. While we still don't know the circumstances of the dismsasting, we are pleased to report that all the crew members are safe, they have retrieved the rig, there is no structural damage to the boat, and they are currently motoring the final 48nm to the finish, under the watch of Maritime Radio in Taupo.

Sail Fiji 2014 - Starting in exactly one year

In exactly one year today, the Sail Fiji race organized by Royal Akarana Yacht Club will start from the Orakei Wharf on Auckland’s Waitemata Harbour. Scheduled for Saturday 7th June 2014, Sail Fiji will be the 22nd race to the Fijian islands for the club that is considered the home of blue water sailing.
