31 year old kiwi Conrad Colman has been appointed co-skipper of the IMOCA 60 Spirit of Hungary set to depart Barcelona, Spain on 31 December in the Barcelona World Race.
A new Coastguard Coastal Medic Course has been announced for the weekend of 10 and 11 January 2015. This course has been specifically scheduled prior to the Offshore Medic Course for those that are yet to complete Coastal Medic, which is a prerequisite to the more advanced course. As well as its marine applications, this course exceeds the Health and Safety requirements of “two day workplace first aid”, so has many commercial usages.

Nine sailors have been named to Yachting New Zealand’s new Aon Fast Track programme. The objective is to accelerate the most talented and dedicated 'up and coming' youth sailors to top international Olympic campaigners.The sailors were selected for Aon Fast Track based on several factors not the least of which is a string of exceptional international youth results.
