How did you get into sailing?
I started sailing an RS: Feva with my family at Waiheke Island at the age of 5. Then, when I was old enough, I started Learn to Sail at Murrays Bay in an Opti. I was inspired to take up sailing after watching my dad sail and thinking it was really cool.

What is your favourite food after a long day on the water?
Mexican.

Where is your favourite place to sail?
Off of my home club, Murrays Bay Sailing Club, and anywhere overseas is always exciting.

What is your favourite thing to do when not sailing?
I like to hang out with my friends and play hockey.

Who are your role models?
My dad, [five-time Olympic medallist] Robert Scheidt, [Danish ILCA 6 sailor] Anne-Marie Rindom and [Hungarian ILCA 6 world champion] Maria Erdi.

What is the best thing about sailing your youth class boat?
I like how the fleet is competitive and the level of racing is very high. I also enjoy the physical aspect of the ILCA and sailing the same boat as lots of my friends.

What do you hope to achieve in sailing in the next 12 months?
To get better at my weaknesses and gain new skills from sailing overseas.

How will you prepare for the youth sailing world championships?
Spend lots of time on the water training with Zach [Stibbe] and the rest of the ILCA squad and soaking up the most I can from the great coaches on offer.

What are your sailing career goals?
To win an Olympic medal has always been a dream of mine since I was little.

What was the proudest moment of your sailing to date?
Coming third in a race at the 2023 youth worlds in Brazil sailing the 29er. Lucy [Leith] and I finished just ahead of the Polish girls who won [the title] which was a surreal feeling for us as a team.
