Yachting New Zealand is delighted to announce Kate Stewart (Wakatere Boating Club) and Taylor Balogh (Naval Point Club Lyttleton) as the recipients of the 2014 St John’s Rotary Scholarship.
The scholarship aims to support two young, talented New Zealand sailors to attend their class Youth World Championship Regattas. Kate and Taylor will attend the 2014 420 World Championships in Germany in late July with their respective sailing partners.
Kate, who crews the 420 with Eliza Wilkinson as helm, will be attending her first ever 420 World Championships having sailed in the class for just one season so far. Kate was 2014 Tauranga Cup winner in the P-Class.

Taylor, who crews the 420 with Taylor Burn at the helm, has spent the last two years campaigning in the 420 class. This will be his second time to compete at the 420 World Championships after attending the 2013 420 World Championships.
