Yachting New Zealand is seeking to recruit a 49erFX Olympic class coach for its High Performance Program. Reporting to the High Performance Director the 49erFX Olympic Class Coach will join a dedicated team of professional coaches who are working together to lead sailors to win multiple medals at the 2016 Olympic Games. The role is primarily focused on leading the current World Championship 49er FX Olympic class to success at the 2016 Olympic Games.
This position will be on a fixed term contract to the 2016 Rio Olympics. Based in Auckland this role will include national and international travel as required on such hours as necessary to carry out your duties.
Yachting New Zealand’s High Performance Vision is to ‘Maintain Olympic Yachting as a multiple medal winning sport in New Zealand’. This role will support the YNZ High Performance Programme to deliver its three key goals:
1. To win multiple medals at Olympic Games
2. To fast track identified campaigns
3. To develop future Olympic campaigners
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate that they can lead an Olympic sailing campaign to pinnacle event success and add value in training and competition. They will be skilled at developing a trusting relationship with the sailors they are leading. In addition, they will be experienced, resourceful and be able to work effectively within a broad team of people both domestically and internationally.
