In addition to offering the entry fee subsidy for sailors in the Hansa 303 and Liberty fleets, Yachting New Zealand is extending their offerings to out of town volunteers working on the Paralympic and Hansa course at Oceanbridge Sail Auckland 2014.
Yachting New Zealand acknowledges the tremendous amount of time and effort put in by volunteers working with disabled sailors to enable their participation in world class and national events such as this which is too often funded out of their own pocket. Distribution will be as follows:
- Whangarei and Northwards: $75
- Rotorua: $75
- Napier, New Plymouth and south of Taupo: $100
- Picton to Christchurch:$150
- South of Christchurch: $175
The rebate is offered per person and will be distributed via petrol vouchers at the event. In order to be eligible for this travel contribution, the volunteers must be contributing to the safety or management of the event, not just supporting one boat. Eligible volunteers will need to notify YNZ (via Kristine@yachtingnz.org.nz).
All volunteers are invited to a volunteers evening on Thursday 30 January at 6:30 for a bite to eat before the volunteers briefing, and to meet NZ’s top sailors at the NZL Sailing Team Sausage Sizzle on Monday 3 February after racing.
