Are you coaching already or interested in coaching? Yachting New Zealand has a number of coaching courses around the country on offer during October and November.
- Race Coach New Plymouth
5 and 7 October, Friday night from 5-9pm and Sunday from 9am-5pm - Race Coach Wellington
13 and 14 October, Saturday from 9am-5pm and Sunday from 9am-5pm - Regatta Coach Auckland
26 and 27 October, Friday from 5-9pm Saturday from 9am-5pm - Race Coach Auckland
9-10 November, Friday from 5-9pm Saturday from 9am-5pm
More about the Race Coach course...
Race coach is aimed at coaches who are working with sailors from learnt to race up to coaches working with sailors at regional and national events. So anyone working with learn to race and racing sailors in your club
· Understanding how to coach and how people learn skills
· Coaching sailing skills
· Power boat driving specific to coaching
· Sailor fitness and safe training
· Rescues and towing
More about the Regatta Coach course...
Regatta Coach is the next level up and is aimed at coaches working from regional and national events up to international and world championship events. So any head coach at your club that might travel to events and coordinate training.
· Advanced Understanding how to coach and how people learn skills
· Weather and how to find and analyse data on new venues
· Risk management for contract and volunteer coaches
· Coaching advanced sailing skills
· Effective coaching (getting the most out of the session and the sailors)
