Yachting New Zealand have received feedback from the Tasman District Council (TDC) on our submission on the Abel Tasman Foreshore Scenic Reserve Management Plan.
YNZ made a submission on the draft plan back in August 2011 with our main concern focussed around access to parts of the park.
The response from the TDC indicated they have made two changes to the plan in response to our submission; one removing a restriction on motorised vessels within the Awaroa Inlet and the second making allowances for vessels camping in the park.
This is a good outcome and shows that advocating for boaties interests can make a difference.
