We are delighted to welcome Ian Gardiner to the YNZ team. Ian is our new NZCT Regional Support Officer for Canterbury, the West Coast, Nelson and Marlborough regions.
Ian is a member of the Queen Charlotte Yacht Club and Waikawa Boating Club. Ian is a long time sailor and actively races his own 7.5m sports boat. Ian has extensive experience across the sport, from dinghy sailing, to officiating, club management and administration, event planning and keelboat and trailer yacht sailing.
Ian has a strong commercial background in management and sales, working in New Zealand and abroad.
Ian says, “I am really looking forward to the role, assisting and supporting clubs and the sport of sailing and enhancing the relationship between the Yacht Clubs of the upper South Island and Yachting New Zealand.”
Ian will start in the role late November and will be making himself know to clubs in his region. We are excited about what Ian brings to the team, and looking forward to what he can offer clubs.
