Yachting’s fleet of five domestic coach boats are in tip top shape and set to last another ten years after being fully refurbished by Lancer Industries.
These boats provide the platform for coaches to support Yachting New Zealand’s youth and development programme through the weekends, as well as supporting Yachting New Zealand’s Olympic programme on weekdays. They see plenty of time on the water each boat averaging four to five days per week in action.
“Two of these boats were purchased by Yachting New Zealand back in 1982 to support the 1984 Olympic sailing team,” says Ian Neely, Yachting New Zealand Talent Development Manager. “Despite their age we know that these boats are the right size and shape to do the job and Lancer helped us find a solution to refurbish the fleet with a view to them lasting at least another ten years for us.”
Now freshly branded and easily recognisable with their grey tubes, white hull, Yachting New Zealand and NZL Sailing Team logos the ribs are back in action supporting the Yachting New Zealand programmes over the summer.
