While others take a breather one New Zealand dinghy club to continue racing through the winter months is Pupuke Boating Club. John Dowsett reports that turn-out is strong…
Pupuke Boating Club is very busy over the winter months hosting and range of yachting from junior sailors in Optimists through to senior sailors in Lasers and fleets of 20 Optimists and 20 Lasers are not uncommon every Sunday through the winter months.
Racing is every Sunday at 1.30pm at Lake Pupuke, Sylvan Park Milford and carries on until the start of the summer season when racing reverts to 2.00pm starts.
Pupuke Boating Club has also recently hosted the North Shore Fresh Water Champs for senior classes with 43 lasers racing over two days. As you can see this is the busy time of the year for Pupuke.
