With winter upon us, it's a great time to upskill yourself through the many coaching and race management courses Yachting New Zealand have on offer.
Race Management
National race officer training seminars are again being run face-to-face. These seminars will train and develop club race officers to become national race officers, as well as continue to upskill current national race officers.
Attendance will be a requirement for appointment and renewal as a Yachting New Zealand-qualified national race officer.
Dates:
- Auckland - July 16-17 - Takapuna Boating Club (hosted by AYBA for Auckland club members only)
- Wellington - August 13-14 - venue tbc
Club race officer training remains available online via Yachting New Zealand's online learning platform EMBARK
The race officers' conference is held annually and is a chance for accredited club, national and international race officers to get together to discuss race management issues and promulgate best practice.

Judging
Club judge training is available in most regions and facilitated by local national judges. If you are interested in a course in your area, please register your interest here, or get a group from your club together and talk to your regional development manager.

Umpiring
A club and national umpire course has just been completed at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron as part of the Harken Youth International Match Racing Cup. Please register your interest in future courses here.
An international umpire course has been proposed to World Sailing to be run in conjunction with the New Zealand Women's Match Racing National Championships run just prior to the Women's Match Racing World Championships being hosted by the RNZYS in November 2022.
