This year's event to find the Top of the South champion team sailing school is shaping up to be by far the biggest since the start of the annual competition more than a decade ago.
Queen Charlotte Sounds will host this year's event on March 30-April 1 - the regatta alternates between Nelson Harbour and Queen Charlotte Sounds - and 14 schools from as far as Wanaka and Dunedin to the lower North island have already entered.
Regatta convener Viv Butcher, who has been involved since the inception in 2005, said it was really gratifying to see the regatta grow to the size it is now. An extra fleet of 420s has been included.
