After a call out for sailing images to feature on the YNZ website homepage back in January we are pleased to announce that Jo Maidment – sailing Mum and budding photographer – will receive the NZL Sailing sweatshirts offered for the chosen submission.
Jo was in Tauranga for a week in early January for the 90th running of the P-Class Nationals and took this winning shot of sailor Kate Stewart from the Wakatere Boating Club.
Kate took out the 2014 Tauranga Cup and was the first female to do so since Lesley Egnot won it in 1979! At 2014 Oceanbridge Sail Auckland Kate sailed in the 420 class - sailing with Kohimarama Yacht Club’s Eliza Wilkinson, they claimed a podium finish with 3rd overall in the 13-strong mixed fleet.
Congratulations on the great photo Jo, and also to Kate, who is clearly a rising star in New Zealand sailing.
