The Ron Norton trophy race is this Saturday at Tamaki Yacht Club. This is a pursuit type handicap race (Mark Foy) where the handicaps are ‘guestimated’ beforehand. The slower boats start first and then at pre-determined intervals the rest of the fleet start. Hence there’s a chance for anybody at any level to win this prestigious trophy.

For the newer members: Ron Norton was a legendary Mistraller and Tamaki Yacht Club enthusiast and sadly missed. It would mean a great deal to his family to have a fantastic turn out for this event. Happy Birthday to Doreen Norton who turned 90 the other day!!
