At Oceanbridge Sail Auckland 2014, six sailors were classified by New Zealand’s new classifier, Helen McKenzie and assisted by International Classifier Stephen Wilson of Australia.
Although at this stage classification is not a requirement for Paralympic Class sailors at Oceanbridge Sail Auckland, competitors that use this event as a launching pad for international campaigns require classification before they leave NZ shores. Being classified allows sailors to be certain that they fit the eligibility criteria for the type of boat they are sailing.
