The Sir Peter Blake Torbay Regatta is a finalist in the "Event of the Year" category at the Sport North Harbour Excellence Awards to be announced on Friday the 6th November.
This is great news for New Zealand's largest annual regatta. The Sir Peter Blake Torbay Regatta not only has a great following from sailors and sailing clubs throughout New Zealand, but it is also a regatta which has also set the bench mark for centreboard regatta organisation, and management over the last 12 years. The regatta organising committee introduced innovations such as sponsored race bibs and courses, race leader bibs, international product sponsorship, and dedicated event medals to celebrate Sir Peter Blake - A great New Zealander.
