Yachting New Zealand and Resene have entered into a colourful two-year partnership that will prove beneficial to clubs and their members, sailors, boat owners and the marine industry.
Resene Automotive and Light Industrial are a leading paint and coatings supplier to the automotive, marine and commercial vehicle markets, with a range of coatings to meet every demand. As well as paints, they supply all collateral products from fillers, solvents and sandpaper to primers, topcoats and spray painting equipment.
They pride themselves on being a New Zealand-owned business, with world-leading technology that has seen them involved in all aspects of the marine sector for decades.
Resene have worked closely with Emirates Team New Zealand for more than 20 years, developing new and unique coatings. Resene’s coatings are seen as world-leading and were used on five of the six teams in last year’s America’s Cup in Bermuda as well as a number of the Volvo Ocean Race boats.
“The recent collaboration between Resene and Yachting New Zealand is seen as a natural alignment to support Resene’s growing presence in the marine sector, and a way for Resene to connect with sailors and boat owners around New Zealand on all levels, to continue to understand the unique coating requirements and lead new technological breakthroughs for the sport,” said Richard Muirhead, general manager of Resene Automotive and Light Industrial.
Resene will be Yachting New Zealand’s official paint and coatings partner and it will see Yachting New Zealand member card holders receive a substantial discount on most Resene products, from paint (500ml-4L) and wallpaper to decorating accessories.
Yachting New Zealand chief executive David Abercrombie welcomed the new partnership with Resene, who are leaders in environmental sustainability and were one of the first companies to hold an Environmental Choice New Zealand label when they achieved the standard 20 years ago.
“This is perfect timing for Yachting New Zealand to team up with a company who share a similar environmental vision,” Abercrombie said.
“This is also a great opportunity to add value to clubs and their members as well as giving more profile to a company who have done remarkable things to benefit the marine industry and put sailing and boating in New Zealand on the world map.”
