It was a day of contrasts for the two New Zealand teams at the Congressional Cup, with Phil Robertson well placed after two days but Chris Steele losing touch with the leaders.

The Congressional Cup, which also doubles as the second event of the 2017 World Match Race Tour, is in its 53rd year and Robertson is looking to improve on the second placing he recorded in 2015.
He sits in third after the second day with seven wins, two points behind leaders Johnie Berntsson (Sweden) and Taylor Canfield (United States), who has won the last three titles.
The last win of the day for Robertson, who won the season-opening tour event in Perth last weekend, came against Steele and his 36 Below Racing team. Steele picked up only one win on the second day to move to three points.
Past winners of the Congressional Cup have included Dennis Conner, Ed Baird, Rod Davis, Chris Dickson and Dean Barker.
Racing continues until Monday morning (NZT).
