Five Hansa Dinghies were a feature of the Napier Sailing Club New Year Regatta in early January, with five dinghies taking to the start line in challenging conditions. Day one brought strong winds and two races of which two boats stayed back on shore, however at the end of the regatta just seven points separated the five boats after six races.
Hawkes Bay local sailor Katy Kenah won the regatta by merit of having the lowest total score, tied on Nett points with Auckland's Helena Horswell in the Hansa Liberty. It was a tight regatta: every sailor won one race with the exception of Kenah who won two.
Final Standings:
1st- Katy Kenah- 10 Points
2nd- Helena Horswell - 10 points
3rd- Samuel Gibson- 16 points
4th Trent Mabbett- 17 points
5th Dennis Hebberley- 17 points
