On Saturday 13 February Wellington Ocean Sports together with Armstrong Prestige ran a fun family open day as part of the Yachting New Zealand Volvo Sailing and Boating Week. Conditions throughout the day remained ideal and a wide age range of particapants enjoyed the complementary ocean sports on offer. WOS staff, RPNYC Board Members and Armstrong Prestige staff received many offers of thanks throughout the day and people seemed genuinely surprised that all this would be offered free of charge.
SUP fun
The purpose of the Volvo Sailing and Boating Week is to get members of the public out on the water, and this was achieved in “big numbers” at Wellington Ocean Sports on Saturday, said Manger Matt Wood. “Not only did 162 Wellingtonians get to experience ocean sports on our beautiful harbour, but several follow on courses were sold on Saturday that will lead onto regular participation. The day would not have been possible without the support of Armstrong Prestige and we look forward to working with them in the future”
