PM Scholarships 2014 YNZ Endorsement Guidelines

PM Scholarships assist athletes who seek to do well on the international stage in Olympic class competition also gain a tertiary level education.

PM Scholarships are managed by ‘Sport New Zealand’ however YNZ will be required to endorse and then rank applicants.

This year YNZ will be looking at the following when assessing how to rank or endorse sailors’ applications for a PM Scholarship.

• Carding (carded sailors take priority as per Sport NZ guidelines)
• Results achieved at international regattas in previous year
• Submit a plan for the 2014 season that includes International events that align with your Olympic goal.
• Sailors’ adherence to previous years PM Scholarship application campaign plan.
• Sailors must be currently sailing an Olympic class campaigning towards Olympic class World Championships and Olympics. (In double handed classes this means be currently with a committed crew)

Those wishing to apply for a PM Scholarship should;

1. Keep looking at the HPSNZ website for the opening of applications

2. Contact Karin Adelinger-Smith to discuss your plan and application

3. Fill out the 1 and 4 year plan and email it to Beth Orton at YNZ.   For a Plan Template contact either Karin Adelinger-Smith or  Beth Orton.
