The Sir Peter Blake Regatta will finally celebrate its 20th edition at the Torbay Sailing Club in December after last year's regatta was cancelled due to Covid-19.
The event is one of biggest centreboard regattas in the Southern Hemisphere, and typically attracts up to 500 competitors across the various classes.
This year's regatta will be held over the weekend of December 3-4 and entries are now open. You can find all the details on the regatta website here, including the notice of race and entry form.
The event is open to all boats of the Optimist, P Class, O’Pen Skiff, Starling, ILCA 6, ILCA 4, RS Feva, 29er, 420, Nacra 15, iQFOiL and wing foil classes, provided four or more of any class enters by the closing date of 10pm on November 29. Late entries will not be accepted.
For the Optimist, P Class, and O’Pen Skiff, competitors shall comply with their youth class rules. For all other classes, competitors shall be under 19 years at December 31, 2022.
The regatta app is also available in the App Store and Google Play, and features all the content you need to keep up to date with the regatta. It will be one of the main tools used to communicate with sailors and their support crews, so search 'Sir Peter Blake Regatta' in your app store now.
The Sir Peter Blake Regatta is always held over the first weekend of December and is a unique celebration of Sir Peter Blake’s life, his values and his passion for sailing. It's more than just a yachting regatta - it is a festival of sailing and a celebration of the life of a great New Zealander.
