Over the weekend of the 22 – 23 November Kohimarama Yacht Club hosted the Auckland Tanner Cup Trials. This year the trials were opened up to allow other sailors form out of regions to compete, to build fleet sizes.
There were 23 entries and Scott McKenzie from Kohimarama Yacht Club made a convincing job of becoming the Auckland representative for the Tanner Cup. Full results are here.
Following soon after on the subsequent weekend (29 - 30 November) there were another four regional trials held.
Onerahi Yacht Club hosted the Northland Tanner Cup trials won by James Sheldon from Bay of Islands Yacht Club in pretty fresh conditions.
Murrays Bay Sailing Club held the North Harbour Tanner Cup trials won by Greta Stewart (pictured above) from Wakatere Boating Club in a hard fought contest with Kerensa Jennings (MBSC) in fresh conditions. More information and full results here.
Wakatere Boating Club held the North Harbour Starling Match Racing Trials with Jeremy Mitchell from MBSC taking the victory. While at Kohimarama Yacht Club Charlotte Porter from KYC won the Auckland Starling Match Racing Trials.
