Just one day of competition remains at the 2016 Women’s Laser Radial World Championships on now in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico where three New Zealand representatives are competing for the world crown in the Olympic single-handed women’s class.
34 year-old Sara Winther is the best placed of the kiwi contingent lying 13th overall going into the last day of competition.

Today two races were added. A 28th and a 16th from Winther sees her slip from 10th overall to 13th. Eleven races have been completed in total and highlights for Winther include a 3rd place in the final qualifying race and a 4th in the opening gold fleet race.
The regatta has attracted 71 sailors and is being raced over seven days. Sticking with tradition the Laser Radial class World Champs schedule features two fleet races, and no medal race, on the final day.
Susannah Pyatt also made the cut for gold fleet racing after four days of competition and is lying 28th overall. Olivia Christie is racing in the silver fleet and heads into the final day of racing lying 28th in her fleet and 64th overall.
