Following the success of last year’s Weta Summer Rally, The NZ Weta Association will be kicking off the summer with a fun family weekend at Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club.
The focus will be on chilled out fun, starting with the TYPBC rum race on Friday night. Saturday is a bit different with a sailing orienteering race, which requires sailors to collect codes from landmarks in the harbour.
“You can do it in any order that you want too, so sailors will have to plan for tides and wind shifts in there to collect all the codes as quickly as possible and be back at the beach first!” says Miranda Powrie.
Barbecues, beach games and some traditional sprint racing on Sunday round out what promises to be a fun family weekend, don't miss this one!
