The New Zealand Sailing Trust was inspired by the adventures of Sir Peter Blake, and his racing teams. We exist to ensure that key yachts from that history are preserved and sailing adventures are run on board to help inspire the next generation. The Trust predominantly runs youth sailing programmes for schools incorporating team building, leadership and communication activities.
The Trust has an opportunity for a casual First Mate and Deckhand/Cook to join us when required to help facilitate our programmes. We currently operate two vessels, Lion New Zealand, an 80ft Whitbread Maxi and Steinlager 2 an 84ft Ketch Whitbread Maxi.
We are looking for outgoing team players with high standards and good seamanship skills. They need to have the ability to lead groups of young people in tasks both aboard and ashore. Strong communication and organisation skills will be a key part in all the roles.
