Presented in association with Massey University, the awards will recognise exceptional performances, efforts and contribution to sport in the North Harbour region.
About the Massey University Harbour Sport Excellence Awards
The sporting excellence of people in the North Harbour region has been celebrated for over twenty years. Many high profile athletes such as Tony Woodcock, Dean Barker, Sarah Ulmer, Hamish Carter, Lydia Ko, Ben Fouhy, Moss Burmester and Tom Ashley are winners of the region’s Sport Excellence Award.
Harbour Sport is proud of our region’s long history of highly skilled sports people and excited by the new and flourishing talent our region is developing.

New to 2015
In recognition of the outstanding calibre of regional athlete’s performances, we are pleased to announce the introduction of two new categories to the Massey University Sport Excellence Awards
Local Sportsman of the Year
Local Sportswoman of the Year
These exciting new awards have been generated to recognise the local sporting achievements of individuals who display exceptional performance at regional levels but have not yet reached international achievements.
*Please note persons nominated for Sportsman/ Sportswoman of the Year cannot be nominated for the local awards.
