The theme of the event will be 'Create the Inspiration'. This comes from a few different avenues, the first being a quote from Steve Hansen in the 2015 Connecting Coaches Conference, in which he said "Your job as a coach is not to motivate, but to inspire". The other avenue is the Rio 2016 New Zealand Olympic Committee used the theme of #betheinspiration leading up to New Zealands most successful Olympic games ever. The 2016 Sir Peter Blake Torbay Regatta then followed on with the theme of #inspirationstartshere. So in fitting fashin, as coaches, we are inspiring our sailors to do many things. This may include, having fun, getting good results and getting them to come back next week. How we create that inspiration for every level, whether Learn to Sail, or Olympic coaching will be dicussed at the 2016 Yachting New Zealand Coaches Conference.
