As many as 100 new Lasers will be available to charter at October's Oceania Laser masters championships in Fiji.
The regatta, being run by the Oceania Laser Class Association and Fiji Laser Class Association, will be held on Denarau Island and hosted by The Denarau Yacht Club.
The commitment of PSA Australia to provide 100 new Lasers is a significant one and will allow the Oceania Laser Class Association and Fiji Laser Class Association to deliver more regattas in the future, with youth events in 4.7 and radial rigs, open events for men and women in radial and standard rig, as well as opportunities for coaching clinics.
"It is important that the island countries support these events as we grow Laser sailing in the region," Fiji Laser Class Association Neville Kloop said. "We expect that as a region we can share the opportunities and our laser class association in Fiji looks forward to engaging with fellow Laser sailors in the islands as well as our big brothers in Australia and New Zealand."
The event will be run separately for Laser standard (October 13-19) and Laser Radial (October 20-26) rigs and access to the new boats will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
