One of the outcomes of the new clubhouse at Murrays Bay Sailing Club is that they now have a facility that can offer more (on land!) than they were once able to.
“Completing the new club house took over seven years so some of the original individual drivers behind the project found their kids had moved on by the time it was completed. And seeing all the activity on the beach front has meant a number of people formerly associated with the club have made contact, keen to see what 2016 had bought to the Bay.”
So for that reason it seemed natural to form an ‘Old Boys and Girls Alumni’ that could accommodate anyone who has a keen and positive interest in Murrays Bay Sailing Club and its sailors.
What are our plans?
The Club hopes that the Alumni will be able to provide Murrays Bay Sailing Club with an additional source of assistance and expertise for regattas (and other events) from time to time.
“We hope to raise funds for special projects that fall outside ‘normal’ MBSC operations.”
“And just as importantly host and run social events from time to time ranging from a monthly Friday bar night to dinners and events through the year.”
“That said these plans will be dependent on the energy, enthusiasm of the Alumni members – so subject to change!”
