For the last three seasons, French Bay Yacht Club in Titirangi has teamed up Elements Sailing School to run dedicated Learn to Sail and Refresher Courses for Adults.
The courses have been well subscribed to by both men and women, and are responsible for converting several landlubbers to boat owners. For those that are keen to continue sailing after the course, French Bay Yacht Club owns several dinghies that are available to practice in, and the members will help steer you in the right direction if you decide that you are keen to buy a boat.
Pictured are two recent female graduates who took part in the club's adventure sail to Cornwallis in January, successfully completing a return trip of 12 miles in one day, in a mix of conditions.
