More than 80 marine industry trainees graduated last week at the annual graduation ceremony at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, with some travelling from as far afield at Fiji and Invercargill to receive their certificates.
The annual graduation ceremony and dinner is always a highlight on the NZ Marine and Composites Industry Training Organisation calendar and this year's event was another great success.
More than 200 guests filled the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron to celebrate the achievements of 37 graduates who attended the event, many of whom were joined by partners, family members, employers and colleagues. Some received their certificates from Sean Regan, Emirates Team New Zealand's shore manager and a boat builder.
Many of the graduates go on to work in the industry from boat builders and marine engineers to sail makers and fairing technicians.
