The number of member clubs registering to be part of the 2015 Volvo National Sailing & Boating Day initiative has escalated over recent weeks with more than 30 Clubs around the country signed up and plenty more making plans.

- 5 Otago Clubs
- 4 Canterbury Clubs
- 2 Northland Clubs
- As well as Clubs from Waikato/Thames, Bay of Plenty, East Coast North Island, West Coast North Island and West Coast South Island all getting in on the action.
On 1 February 2015 Clubs around New Zealand will join in the national celebration of sailing and boating with a wide variety of member and public activities on offer. Yachting New Zealand is the behind the initiative, first launched in 2014, and encourages member clubs to open their doors, welcome the public into their environment, to showcase club level sailing and persuade newcomers to come along and join existing members for a fun day at the club and on the water.
From ‘taster’ sailing opportunities in dinghies and keelboats, spectator opportunities, social bbqs, information days, club and regional regattas the 2015 Volvo National Sailing and Boating Day looks set to be brilliant day for everyone. A list of What’s happening and where is being updated as registrations are received at Yachting New Zealand, and during January we will be working with registered Clubs to promote the day through local media.
