It was a great day for NZL Sailing Team’s Natalia Kosinska on day two of the for day at the 2014 RS:X European Champs on now in Cesme, Turkey. She is lying 6th overall in the standings for the Open Trophy with a rest day tomorrow.
Coach Dave Robertson reports in; “Day 2 saw a change of conditions at lighter end of scale. Tricky racing with wind ranging from 3-12 knots and very gusty.”
“Natalia sailed very well to have a great day positioned 4th in first race and 2nd in final race of day. Just two races in the end today and a rest day tomorrow.”
He adds; “This is the closest racing I have seen in the women's fleet ever. Mistakes are costly but good decisions are rewarded as equally. The forecast for the final three days is 20-30 knots.”
Charline Picon from France leads the women’s fleet after five races with Zofia Nocetti-Klepacka (POL) lying second. 52 women from around the world are racing in Cesme for the Women’s Open Trophy.
The other New Zealand board sailor in Cesme, Alex Hart (Tauranga Yacht & Powerboat Club) is lying 40th of 67 riders in the Youth Men Open Trophy division.
