While their senior counterparts on the NZL Sailing Team are in the final build-up to Rio 2016 and record number of New Zealand’s youth class sailors have been competing at the 29er, 420 and Laser Radial Youth World Championships at different venues around the world.
Gaining valuable experience in big fleet international competition the kiwi crews came away with some creditable results;
29er World Championships
24th – 30th July, Medemblik
- Sebastian Lardies and Scott Mckenzie 7th open, 5th Youth
- Francesco Kayrouz and Oscar Gun, 38th Open
- Jackson Keon and Tom Fyfe 41st
- Greta Stewart and Kate Stewart 4th Silver fleet, 54th overall 5th Youth Female
- Sam Morgan and Ben Nathan 24th Silver fleet
- Lewis Anderson and Pat Morgan 35th silver fleet
- Emma French and Saffron Nixon 47th Silver fleet, 10th Youth Female
- Crystal Sun and Zelda Ladefoged 15th Bronze fleet,
- Anne Huebner and Olivia Hobbs (sailing under the German flag but are members of the Kohimarama Yacht Club, and based in New Zealand), 43 bronze fleet
