We don't tend to have white Christmases in New Zealand but it can be greener if you and your family consider a few things when buying and wrapping gifts for friends and family this year.
Some of the things to consider include:
- Gifts made from sustainable materials rather than plastic
- The packaging the gift comes in and how you wrap it
- Make gifts
- Give experiences as gifts
- Donate to a charity
- Gift a conservation membership or similar
- Adopt a species
- Support a tree planting charity or project
