The Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club is a yacht club that has had unparalleled sailing success at International level in recent times. It is a family based Club overlooking the entrance of the beautiful Tauranga Harbour. It is a Club which supports a strong cross-section of sailing from offshore keelboats, to trailer yachts and multihulls, through to a flourishing centreboard division.
Further to this there is a busy, professionally run Sailing School with international coaches running training courses for adults and children ranging from learn-to-sail through to race training. The Club is one of Tauranga’s most popular wedding venues and throughout the summer the Club hosts several wedding receptions each week as well as numerous other types of private and corporate functions.
In order to maintain the growth of the Club we are looking for a person to take the facility to the next level of business professionalism. This person will be responsible for the 5 Full time staff and various part-time staff necessary to run the Club and Sailing School, as well as taking responsibility of the assets of the Club.
We require a motivated person, experienced in Business Development, Staff management, and member and customer relations. A New Zealand tertiary qualification would be preferred. A knowledge of sailing and some experience of the hospitality industry would be an advantage but is not required.
