Entries have been received from Australia, Tahiti, New Caledonia as well as throughout New Zealand for next month's 2018 Toyota Optimist National Championships in Picton.
A new champion will be crowned in the open fleet with 2017 champion Seb Menzies having moved into the boy's 420 and competition will be tight with ranking points on offer.
Racing starts on March 30 and includes Opti team sailing, which will be early in the regatta and sailed just off the beach from the Queen Charlotte Yacht Club.
The host club are also bringing back the much-loved opening parade down the main street of Picton together with local dignitaries and bands, which will be part of the official welcoming and briefing. The best turned out club as judged by a local dingnitary will be the winners of a top-line Webber BBQ for the team or club. More information will be forwarded directly to clubs.
