This year's Gulf Classic at the Maraetai Beach Boating Club will take on a totally different look this year.
The 100 nautical mile race for trailer yachts was not as popular as it was a decade ago, and last year there was only one entrant in that division, but the 50 Nm and the 30Nm divisions were well supported.
It means this year will see a division A for keelers taking on a 85Nm course. The trailer yachts will have two options for courses. Division B will be the main trailer yacht division over 60 Nm and the division the Gulf Classic Trophy will be competed for. There will also a division C over a 40 Nm course, which will also be an open trailer yacht event. Class racing is encouraged in the keeler A and trailer yacht B divisions.
