Anyone from recent learn to sail graduates through to aspiring Olympians is encouraged to enter this month's Auckland Women’s 50:50 Regatta hosted by the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron.
The two-day regatta on February 19-20 is an open event for members of any yacht club and designed to encourage females to get on the helm.
The skipper/helm of each boat must be a woman, with mixed crews of four having no more than two males in the team. All female crews can have four or five members on the Elliott 7s.
It's a chance for families or friends to put teams together and is a fun weekend designed to cater to those seeking competitive racing as well as those looking to build confidence and skills.
The event didn't run last year due to Covid, with Megan Thomson and her crew prevailing in 2019.
See here for more information. Please note entries close at 4pm on Friday – entries submitted past this deadline will not be accepted.
