More than 80 yachting and boating clubs across New Zealand have benefitted from Aon's Affiliated Yacht Club Insurance Package, with more than $1.25m in claims being paid to clubs over the past five years.
These have covered a wide range of claims, from large weather events to thefts of engines and employment disputes, and some would not have been covered by standard insurance policies that are not tailored for yachting and boating clubs.
The Affiliated Yacht Club Insurance Package has saved most clubs with their overall insurance cost while also significantly enhancing the cover provided, which was developed in collaboration between Aon and Yachting New Zealand to ensure it is fit-for-purpose.
Most clubs were overpaying for the level of cover they were receiving prior to Aon’s involvement with Yachting New Zealand. In many cases, most clubs who have joined the scheme have managed to save on premiums while also largely enhancing their cover offered through Aon.
