Team Full Metal Jacket’s rise to a new personal best has now brought four teams of New Zealanders inside the top 15 of ISAF’s latest international Match Race rankings (issued May 16th).
These include:
Lauie Jury – 9th
Phil Robertson – 11th
Reuben Corbett – 14th
Will Tiller – 15th
New Zealand is the only country to have four teams in the top 20, however Australia does the nation up one by having three teams in the top ten.
For team FMJ, this is a boost ahead of their first World Match Racing Tour event of the year, The Korea Match Cup which starts on the 29th of May.
The Full Metal Jacket will be looking to make a mark as they go up against the top match racers in the world. At the last World Tour event, The Monsoon Cup in Malaysia FMJ Topped the leaderboard for the round robin and narrowly missed out on the semis going down 3-2 in the quarters to Johnie Berntsson (SWE), a WMRT card holder. The team will be looking to top that performance in Korea and stomp their mark on the World Tour!
