It really is the final countdown now to the Jack Tar Auckland Regatta for 2014.
77 boats are in, across nine divisions and three race courses. Sailing instructions are online now.
There are some awesome prizes on offer:
- At the Jack Tar Auckland Regatta Party on Saturday night (to be held at Jack Tar) we’ve got a Red Paddle Co 10’8 inflatable from the NZ Paddleboard Co
- And a stainless BBQ and Uniden Atlantis 250 handheld VHF from Burnsco Marine.
At the prize giving on Sunday night at the RNZYS there is heaps more - a PFD set for the whole family (comprising two adults, two kids and a dog) from Kiwi Yachting. More prizes from Burnsco. SUP rental and lessons for four people from Flux at Westhaven. And more!
What’s happening when:
- Briefing, 1900hrs, Thursday 20 March at BBYC (turn up earlier to register)
- Friday’s race is a harbour course for all boats, with extras allowed, and post race drinks at the BBYC and RNZYS clubrooms
- Saturday and Sunday racing starts at 1000hrs with the first warning signal at 0955hrs.
- Saturday night Jack Tar party at 1730rs - with buses from the RNZYS at 1700, 1730 and 1800hrs, and boats direct from BBYC to the Viaduct (Kohi Yacht Club is putting on island style food for us again - please support it. $5 sausages, and $10 steak sandwiches). Check your registration packs for drinks specials!
- Sunday night prize giving, at 1700hrs at the RNZYS at Westhaven Marina. Bring your family and supporters for heaps more spot prizes, videos and photos galore
