The safety regulations of sailing are due for the four-year review so Yachting New Zealand are seeking input from yacht clubs, class associations, cruising associations and industry on possible changes.
A panel of senior yacht inspectors and applicable industry and technical experts will review feedback once it has been received. A draft set of regulations will then be sent to Maritime New Zealand for review before publishing.
Anyone wishing to submit feedback is asked to use the following format:
- Proposed rule change with reference to the number.
- Recognised (SOLAS, World Sailing, ABS, ISO, CE, Bureau Veritas) technical substantiation for that proposed rule change.
- Details of the organisation represented declaring any potential conflicts of interest.

The closing date for feedback is July 31, 2020.
