The navy are used to going the extra mile and their entry into the 24-hour endurance yacht race in Wellington covered the most distance recently.

The navy boat covered the most distance.

The navy boat Manga II, a Chico 40 owned and crewed by the Royal New Zealand Navy, sailed 104.19 nautical miles in the 24 hours, earning them fourth on corrected distance. Last year’s winner, Ex-Tension, a Davidson 36, sailed 101.22 NM which was enough to place first on corrected distance.

White Cavalier (Cavalier 30) was second and Madness (Ross 780) third on corrected distance.

Next year’s 24-hour endurance yacht race will be sailed on March 16-17, 2019.
