Get your entry in now for one of the most popular 2 Handed Yacht Races in New Zealand brought to you by the Short Handed Sailing Association of New Zealand.
Are you looking for:
- some more challenging 2 handed yacht racing?
- a 2 handed cruising race out to Great Barrier Island for a long weekend?
- a really good reason to get together with like-minded yachties to have a few drinks and tell some lies?
Whichever it is, you’ll find it by joining in the Chains Ropes and Anchors ANZAC 250.
There are 4 divisions spread across 3 different courses - 60NM, 180NM & 240NM so there is something for everyone. The long-haul and short-haul divisions start at 1700 Thursday 21st April, and the small-boat and cruising divisions starting 0900 Friday 22nd April.
All divisions start at Westhaven and finish at Port Abercrombie on Great Barrier Island for the "after match" function and prize giving to be held in Smokehouse Bay in Port Fitzroy. A rally home will round out this awesome weekend of short-handed sailing and fun.
There are some great prizes and trophies up for grabs and many boats will use the ANZAC 250 event as a qualifier for the 2017 Round North Island Two Handed Race.
The race will also be part of an Offshore Two Handed Series, combining the results of the ANZAC 250 with the RAYC White Island Race in November for which there will be an overall trophy (and prizes) up for grabs.
The notice of race, sailing instructions and entry form are now online and can be viewed here.
So after Easter get the boat prepped and come be a part of this epic event!
