The New Zealand Sailing Trust have entered Sir Peter Blake’s iconic yacht, which won the 1989–90 Whitbread Round the World Race skippered by Blake.

Participants do not need prior experience but should expect to be completely hands-on.

The race starts at 10am on April 13 and will take between 12 and 24 hours to complete, depending on conditions. On board Steinlager 2 will be an experienced crew who will host the journey and provide all safety briefings and sailing expertise. Participants will take part as full crew members and be expected to work hard to achieve the best possible time.

If you can’t make the race, you can also secure crew positions on board Steinlager 2 for the delivery from Tauranga back up to Auckland on April 15. This cruise up the coast will arrive in Auckland on April 17.

For the race information pack, please contact Erin McKenna on erin@nzsailingtrust.com or 021 333 816.
